The process of UAP disclosure requires enough government consensus to ensure that meaningful legislation is passed to release classified information to the public. Direct outreach to media networks is a critical opportunity to build awareness in the public space, and galvanize public support for UAP disclosure legislation.
Step 1
Identify Media Opportunities
Media coverage of UAP disclosure legislation has been limited, and many media networks are reluctant or unwilling to cover the topic. We recommend starting with the news/media you are most familiar with, which will allow you to share a credible point of view as their consumer.
Local News, TV & Radio
Local television stations, newspapers, and radio stations are widespread. Start by identifying the largest local news stations in your respective city or closest major metropolitan region.
Global/National Media
Large and established media networks are important target for on-going outreach that will communicate to the editorial staff that UAP disclosure is important for their audience.
Influencers & Digital Media
Independent digital media destinations or influencers with a large audience are an important opportunity, but should be carefully selected for the opportunities where UAP disclosure would make sense.
Step 2
Choose a Letter Template
Our community has created various letter templates for media, which you can find on our Reddit page. We recommend a short and concise message for any media target, especially larger media destinations. For independent media or local news, you may be able to share details like quotes from elected officials with a longer message, as the recipient may be less likely to understand the scope or background of the topic.
Step 3
Choose Contact Methods
Email & Phone
Check and locate their contact information. Email addresses may be available on some websites, otherwise you should easily find a feedback or contact form. Phone calls to local media are worth the effort.
Physical Mail
Sending a letter through the mail is a timeless method for sending "letters to the editor" and demonstrating the importance of your letter through your effort. This is an ideal approach for local newspapers.
Social Media
Sending or posting a message on social media networks is a less effective way to communicate and may not be reviewed, with some exceptions for independent and local media.
